We sent a few boxes of magazines to the friendly folks over at College Cyclery in Sacramento for a second Saturday cruiser ride on June 6. They told us that had quite the evening, despite Kickstand staff not being there in person.
Weird.
“Thanks for the free magazine, the ride in Sacramento was even better this time because we had something to read while we sat and had some drinks. Thanks again and good luck with the mag,” Ted Florez told us via comment.
If that doesn’t get you excited then throw your own cruiser ride party. We’re happy to send you some copies of the magazine to hand out. Then, send us your pictures for inclusion on our website or in the next magazine. If you’re lucky.
Email us for the details.

a huge thanks to all who came out for the ride. and an even bigger thanks to the folks at kickstand for taking the chance to produce a nationally distributed cruiser only rag. i really liked the first issue and i am so thankfull to you guys for featuring one of my bikes as well as our humble ride. there were 50+ bikes, all smiles, two exploding tubes from those filling their tires down at the gas station i asume. and only one breakdown on the way back but all the riders in that group stoped droped what they were doing and whiped out the tools to get her back on the road. that my friends is what cruisers and the cruiser lifestyle is all about, enjoying time with one another, looking at cool bikes and just plain roll’in along with a smile on our faces!!
WOW!!!!! I WENT ON THE SECOND SATURDAY BIKE RIDE LED BY ADAM COPELAND FROM COLLEGE CYCLERY. I HAD A BLAST CONSIDERING I HAVEN’T BEEN ON A BIKE IN SOOOOO MANY YEARS. I HAVE FOND MEMORIES OF MY MOTHER RIDING ME ON THE BACK OF HER BIKE WHEN I WAS A CHILD, SHE PEDDLED TO THE BEACH AND TO THE CITY OF THE HAGUE(NETHERLANDS), TO THE GROCERY STORE AND THE PARK, JUST EVERYWHERE. I CAN STILL HEAR THE SQUEEKS AND HUMS OF HER BICYCLE AS SHE PEDDLED ALONG……… SO WHEN MY DAUGHTER’S BOYFRIEND ASKED ME AND MY HUSBAND IF WE WANTED TO GO ON THIS BIKE RIDE DOWN TO OLD SAC I WAS REALLY EXCITED TO GO. THE BOYFRIEND DIDN’T THINK I COULD MAKE IT, HA I SHOWED HIM!!!!! ALTHOUGH I HAVE TO ADMIT THE LITTLE UP HILLS WERE BIG KILLERS TO MY POOR KNEES!!! IT WAS SO FUN RINGING MY LITTLE BICYCLE BELL DOWN THE STREETS, AND THE REACTIONS OF THE PEOPLE ON THE SIDEWALKS, THEY LOVED IT AS MUCH AS WE DID. BUT GO FIGURE, ON THE WAY HOME MY BRAND NEW BIKE DECIDED TO BREAK DOWN, BUMMER TO HAVE ALL THOSE OLD OLD BIKES PASSING MY BROKEN DOWN NEWBIE, GOES TO SHOW YOU THEY DON’T MAKE EM LIKE THEY USED TO! A NICE GUY WHO WAS WITH US WAS KIND ENOUGH TO STOP AND HELP US OUT, THANKS A BUNCH TO FRANK AND THE OTHER FELLAS ON THE RIDE. SO NOW I AM LOOKING AT MY BROKEN DOWN NEW BIKE AND CONTEMPLATING….MAYBE MY DAUGHTER WILL BUILD ME AN OLDIE BUT GOODIE BIKE. I GUESS WE’LL BE CALLING THE BIKE SHOP SOON, CAUSE THE NEXT 2ND SATURDAY IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER AND I WILL BE GOING. NOW I WILL BE MAKING SOME MORE OF THOSE GREAT MEMORIES PEDDLING DOWN TOWN JUST LIKE MOMMA DID.
WAR PIG it stands for Wild About Riding hogs “Harley Davidson”. Any how bout the Saturday night ride! I though it was cool that strangers could get together for a bike ride and automatically become friends, now that’s cool! My home made trike that sits low looks long and kind of like a dragster racer with two rear slicks, banana seat, sissy bar, custom rear cage, boxed and sculptured frame, etc, did pretty good no break downs. It was however hard peddling on up grades, but did even better on down hills yea like getting the wind in my face. Another point worth mentioning is the sound of all the bells and rings through out the ride, resonating in the air was boss man ! Let’s do it again!
Well it took me two and a half hours to get there in my old Chevy truck with no radio or a/c, but it has a manual tranny to bang into my sons knees as my daughter was i the car seat at the end….but yeah it was way worth it even though I got lost, a very nice couple helped me and my daughter get back to where we needed to be even though my daughter who’s four had to really use the bathroom for ten blocks we had an awesum time. We got back to the truck and my son was like dad lets do it again….got back at 1:00 am
as always i had a great time and its been amazing to watch this ride grow from 2 people to well over 50.
big thanks for the magazine and covering our ride!
looking forward to seeing the next magazine and good luck
